Why Book This Route
Wildlife Trek
Unlike Kilimanjaro, the Mt Meru trek passes through active game territory. An armed ranger accompanies you through the lower forest where buffalo, giraffe, and colobus monkeys are regularly spotted.
Kilimanjaro Views
The summit of Mt Meru offers one of the best views of Kilimanjaro from anywhere in Tanzania. On clear mornings, you see the full massif rising above the cloud line, a reward that rivals the Kilimanjaro summit itself.
Perfect Warmup
Mt Meru reaches 4,566m, making it an ideal acclimatisation trek before a Kilimanjaro attempt. Many climbers use it to test their gear, build confidence at altitude, and arrive at Kilimanjaro already adjusted.
